Men’s Doubles: Beckham & Mohindra win a final for the late shift
The men’s event was shaped by momentum swings, tight scorelines and the kind of finishing that short formats create. Beckham and Mohindra began brightly in Group C, dispatching Ben Oakes / Pablo Ortiz 4–0, 4–1, before later being checked by the eventual finalists Michael Alexander / Florian Schroeder, who edged the group meeting 4–3, 4–0.
From that point, their route to the trophy became a test of nerve. A strong quarter-final win over top seeds James Bartram / Jake Bewley (4–3, 4–0) set the platform, but the semi-final brought the defining moment. Against Thomas Charnock / Sakib Talha, Beckham and Mohindra recovered from 2–4 down to level the contest 4–3 and clinch the match tie-break 10–8.
The final, starting deep into the evening, was a rematch with Alexander and Schroeder — and it delivered exactly the finish the schedule demanded. Beckham and Mohindra dropped the first set 1–4, responded to take the second 4–3, and then held their nerve to complete the comeback 10–8 in the deciding tie-break.
Women’s Doubles: Blackburn & Pert set the standard and never let go
If the men’s draw was defined by survival, the women’s tournament was defined by control. Tabitha Blackburn and Mary Pert were the most settled partnership across the day, progressing cleanly through the group stage before producing a sharp semi-final performance.
In the final, they delivered a statement scoreline — 6–2, 6–1 — to lift the title with clarity and conviction.
Tournament Takeaways: short format, big moments
This Road2London SILVER underlined what the concept does so well: it compresses tension into every game. With short sets and match tie-breaks shaping the biggest matches, the tournament rewarded teams who could make smart choices at speed and remain calm when pressure peaked.
